Foundations and SRI

Coro is working with Community Foundations of Canada to help foundations integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into how they manage their endowments. A key feature of this effort is to provide guidance and tools on impact investing, in which foundation assets are invested directly into community projects such as social enterprises. The first foundation SRI website in Canada was launched this fall and is available at: www.responsibleinvestment.ca

Social Finance

Strandberg Consulting is working on a project with Social Innovation Generation to conceptualize a “social impact bond” which would channel social investments from foundations and others into prevention services, the cost-savings of which would provide the investor dividend.

Fostering the CSR – HR Connection

Since publication of her Industry Canada funded paper on the CSR – HR Connection, Coro is writing articles and speaking at HR manager conferences on the role HR managers can play to advance CSR through their corporate roles. See: Events

Sustainable Purchasing at the 2010 Olympics

Coro is wrapping up her 4-year contract with the 2010 Olympics in which she advised on stakeholder engagement and sustainability integration, with a project to summarize the benefits, impacts and lessons learned of VANOC’s Buy Smart Sustainable Purchasing Program.
